    2 killed, 1 injured in head-on crash in Wayne County

    WAYNE COUNTY, Iowa — Two people were killed and one person was injured in a head-on collision in Wayne County Tuesday morning.

    At around 7:32 a.m. the Iowa State Patrol responded to a report of a crash near the intersection of Highway 2 and County Road S40, just east of Corydon. According to a crash report, a Ford F150 driven by 19-year-old Adrian Cooper Boggs, was traveling east on Highway 2. When the truck came to a curve in the road it crossed the center line and struck a Toyota Camry head-on.

    The driver of the Camry, 84-year-old Larry Gene McDanel, and his passenger, 70-year-old Linda Darlene McDanel, died from their injuries at the scene of the crash. Boggs was seriously injured and transported to a Des Moines hospital via air ambulance.

    An investigation into the crash is still under investigation.
