Contributed photo By Mike Williams news@breckenridgeamerican.com One Woodson High School trackster was recognized last month by the Texas Girls’ Coaches Association. Ella Sullivan was recognized as a member of the 1A All-State team in track during the annual TGCA Summer Clinic, which took place June 24-27 in Arlington. Sullivan is a distance runner in track and field, competing in the 800, 1600 and 3200-meter runs. She was a regional qualifier in all three events in 2022 and 2023. She broke through to the 2024 Track & Field State Meet, along with fellow athletes Baylee Gray, who competed in pole vault; and Nicholas Romo, who competed in the 800-meter run. During the UIL 1A Region III Track & Field Meet, Sullivan took second place in the 1600-meter run and first place in the 3200-meter run. The junior finished the 1600-meters with a time of 5:56.58 and finished the 3200-meters in 12:57.38.During the state meet, Sullivan competed in the 1600 and 3200-meter runs. She placed ninth overall in the 1600-meter run with a time of 6:08.13.  She took eighth place in the 3200-meter run with her time of 13:23.00. Teammate Gray finished ninth in pole vault with her height of 08-06. Romo finished fifth in his race with a time of 2:02.86. In cross country, Sullivan competed in the UIL 1A Region III Championship which took place Oct. 23, 2023 at Lynn Creek Park. Sullivan finished the 2-mile race in 73rd place with a time of 15:11.80. Representing WHS alongside Sullivan was Kike Base, Claire Ellis, Baylee Gray, Madison Poston and Alysia Perez. WHS finished the meet 13th in the team standings with 318 points. Sports
