The mood on the Below Deck Mediterranean yacht is one of organized chaos and career firsts for Captain Sandy Yawn . But not the kind that the reality TV star would want to experience.

There was the provisions nightmare from the first charter. Now, in a first for the seasoned captain, the crew had to abandon the anchor in a bid to get panicked guests back to the dock in time. Here is your preview for Below Deck Med, Season 9, Episode 7.

“We don’t have an option,” on Below Deck Med

The guests are wondering if they’ll miss their flight.

“Put the break on. Stop the anchor. We’re not going to be able to get our anchor up,” she said.

“I’ve never had to leave an anchor on purpose because a windlass didn’t work. We tried to tie a line on and haul the anchor in by hand. Didn’t work. Option two is we leave our anchor and have someone come and retrieve it. It’s a risk to leave our anchor. Very expensive piece of equipment. Hopefully, it’s still there when we return. The weather is here, I have to get these clients back to the dock. We don’t have an option,” Sandy explained in a confessional interview.

Trishelle Cannatella needed to catch a 3 pm flight to Paris “to host people at our house tonight.” Chief stew Aesha Scott quickly made her an Espresso martini to “make it up to” her.

“Oh my god,” the Below Deck Down Under star said in confessional. “I’ve got guests that are going to miss flights. And I’ll betcha it’s not economy. I think I’ve got to distract them and keep them entertained.”

Meanwhile, the deck team has been tasked with leaving a landmark at the spot where the anchor will be abandoned.

“We’re putting reflective tape around the buoy that’s holding our chain,” Sandy explained to producers.

The captain then explained the situation to the guests. Trishelle’s jaw is decidedly clenched all the while, but the others seem very gracious.

“I feel like it’s extending our vacation a little bit so I’m ok with that,” one said.
