Bison and elk are some of the most iconic and majestic creatures in North America. They're also two of the biggest... Bison are the largest land animal to walk the lands, reaching over 2,000 pounds at their heaviest. These massive creatures are generally peaceful and just graze along until there’s a problem. Then they use their size and force to get out of any and all situations, defending the herd from predators like bears and wolves. Elk are one of the most beloved members of the deer family. Famous for their looks with unique antlers, their amazing taste and unique bugle they let out for mating, people come from far and wide to see elk in action. These beasts are the second largest memebers of the deer family in North America (behind moose), reaching over 1,000 pounds at their most. Bulls grow and shed antlers annually that are used as a display of dominance and health along with weapons to assert it. Typically, these animals ignore each other even though in many places they have shared habitat. They both like big herds and the plains with plenty of food and visibility. So what happens when they do get on each others nerves? These folks caught just that all on video. A bull elk and bison are seen going head-to-head in what appears to be some kind of fenced in location. Might be some kind of zoo or game farm, it's unclear where they're at, but it’s a strange sight to see. Neither one of them are shying away from the fight, and this particular bison seems fairly young... a relatively evenly-matched size for this elk. We can see more bison in the video as well, but it almost appears as though the mature bull elk gets the better of the confrontation. https://twitter.com/bushcamp2/status/1212375756656926725
