    Don’t call it a comeback!

Will Smith returned to the music scene on Friday (June 28) with the empowering, faith-based single, “ You Can Make It ,” and the record has officially debuted on the Billboard charts.

Following its first TV performance at the 2024 BET Awards, the anthem that features Fridayy and the Sunday Service Choir debuted at No. 3 on the Hot Gospel Songs chart and ranked No. 23 on the Hot Christian songs chart. It also appeared on the following charts: Gospel Digital Song Sales (No. 3), Christian Digital Song Sales (No. 6), Gospel Streaming Songs (No. 10), and Gospel Airplay (No. 28).

When speaking on the single, Smith told Billboard , “I was really talking to myself. To see so many people resonate with the intention gives me a clear North Star for this next chapter of my creative life.”

The Fresh Prince is reportedly working on a full album, but there’s no word on its musical direction.

During his performance at the BET Awards, the Oscar winner declared, “I don’t know who needs to hear this right now, but whatever’s going on in your life, I’m here to tell you—you can make it.”

On the record, he raps about staying encouraged through life’s adversaries. “Tryna heal, but the battle’s uphill/ And if God is for real, you just wonder if He’ll listen/ So many tests for the flesh/ Exhausted, gasping to catch your breath/ Walking through the valley of the shadow of death/ And when you think you’ve got nothing left, keep going,” raps the father-of-three.

The return to his roots comes two years after the infamous altercation with Chris Rock at the 2022 Oscars, and follows the homecoming of Big Willy weekends at the box office amid the success of Bad Boys: Ride Or Die .
