Return to the beach later this summer for a new Baywatch docuseries. Hulu has announced that After Baywatch: Moment in the Sun, a four-part docuseries from ABC News Studios, will stream on August 28, 2024.

Baywatch, created by Michael Berk, Douglas Schwartz, and Gregory J. Bonann, ran for 11 seasons from 1989 to 2001. After Baywatch: Moment in the Sun will explore the “cultural phenomenon that defined an era,” and provide insight into the show’s stars who became the world’s most famous lifeguards.

Who is Involved in Baywatch Docuseries?

Matthew Felker produces and directs After Baywatch: Moment in the Sun. The project began in 2019 as “Baywatch: The Documentary” before landing at ABC News Studio and transforming into After Baywatch: Moment in the Sun.

“Through dozens of new cast interviews and never-before-seen footage, this docuseries unpacks how the show captured the mythology of California’s beach culture, set physical beauty standards for an entire generation, and capitalized on the adage ‘sex sells,'” the synopsis reads.

Cast members and producers participating in the docuseries include Berk, Schwartz, Traci Bingham, David Chokachi, Nicole Eggert, Carmen Electra, Erika Eleniak, Jeremy Jackson, Michael Newman, Alexandra Paul, Douglas Schwartz, Billy Warlock, and Gregory Alan Williams. The docuseries will also feature a never-aired interview with Pamela Anderson, who famously played C. J. Parker.

Baywatch’s biggest star, David Hasselhoff, has not been confirmed for the docuseries.

Executive producers of After Baywatch: Moment in the Sun include Felker, Ari Shofet, and Muriel Pearson. Eggert is a producer on the docuseries, with David Sloan serving as a senior executive producer.

Baywatch ran for nine seasons from 1989 to 1999. The series was rebranded as Baywatch: Hawaii for its final run from 1999 to 2001. A Baywatch reboot is currently in development at Fox.
