Ellen DeGeneres Claims ‘I Am Not Mean’ and ‘I’m Done’ With Fame After Her Next Netflix Special: ‘This Is the Last Time You’re Going to See Me’

Ellen DeGeneres will be closing the curtain’s soon. During her three-night stand-up show in Santa Rosa, the former talk show host opened up about her exit from the spotlight and her plans for the future.

Addressing the audience at the Luther Burbank Center for the Arts, DeGeneres wasted no time in acknowledging the elephant in the room. “Let me catch you up on what’s been going on with me since you last saw me,” she said. “I got chickens. Oh yeah, and I got kicked out of show business for being mean.”

DeGeneres, known for her quick wit and cheerful demeanor, didn’t shy away from discussing the aftermath of her talk show cancellation after 19 seasons. She admitted that the experience had a profound impact on her and made her realize her own sensitivity. “I used to say, ‘I don’t care what people say about me,'” she confessed. “Now I realize I said that during the height of my popularity, Variety reports.

In typical Ellen fashion, she tried to lightened the mood with a joke about her potential future downfall. “Next time, I’ll be kicked out for being old. Old, gay, and mean, the triple crown,” she quipped. However, she went on to seemingly address the toxic workplace allegations that got her nearly canceled. “I can “can be demanding and impatient and tough. I am a strong woman.” DeGeneres added, “I am many things, but I am not mean.”

When asked about her plans for the future and whether she would return to fame, DeGeneres surprised everyone with a resolute “no.” She declared, “This is the last time you’re going to see me. After my Netflix special, I’m done.” It seems that DeGeneres has made peace with her mistakes and is ready to move on to the next chapter of her life.
