Letters: Longtime Surprise resident throwing support behind Cline

I am asking you to vote for Aly Cline as the next mayor of Surprise.

Since we moved here in 2001, the city we call home has grown to become a thriving city and cannot afford to elect a part-time mayor. We deserve better. The only candidate who has the experience and full-time commitment to hit the ground running is Aly.

I first met Aly in 2012 during a benefit she led supporting Relay For Life, which supports the American Cancer Society. She was energetic and organized, and I later asked her to consider becoming a member of our Board of Directors as she had also been a member of our Financial Advisory Committee. It was clear that she had the professional training and experience necessary to assist our community as we navigated through our own growing pains.

While Aly choose a different path to serve, she has been a tremendous supporter of not only our community, but all residents of Surprise. She and her husband Gary, a fellow Vietnam veteran, have been strong supporters of all Veteran related initiatives, including support of our Armed Forces Support Group’s efforts to raise monies for Veterans and their families in times of need.

Again, please vote to elect Aly Cline to become our next mayor. She is a fiscal conservative and has the experience, energy, and full-time commitment needed to ensure future growth is manageable and sustainable. We all need her as mayor.
