BOSSIER CITY, La. ( KTAL/KMSS ) – Detectives in Bossier Parish, Louisiana are warning residents about a phone scam that is currently circulating in the parish.

Bossier Parish Sheriff’s Office detectives say a caller is identifying himself as Sergeant Forrest Collins with the Bossier Sheriff’s Office and telling people the BPSO has a warrant out for them. The scammer then tells the person that they owe $3000 to the BPSO.

The scammer is spoofing the Sheriff’s Office’s man number, (318) 965-2203.

It is not BPSO policy to contact residents by phone and solicit money or demand payment for a fine.

Have you been victimized by this scammer? If so, the BPSO said to call them at (318) 965-3418 or (318) 965-2203.
