Deputies give ‘all clear’ after bomb threat reported at gas station in Humphreys County

HUMPHREYS COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) — Authorities launched an investigation Wednesday morning into a bomb threat at a Humphreys County truck stop off Interstate 40.

The Humphreys County Sheriff’s Office posted about the situation at the Pilot Travel Center on Highway 13 South at exit 143 off I-40 shortly before 11:15 a.m. on Wednesday, July 10.

“We have no indication that this is anything more than a hoax but we are currently investigating and trying to determine if any suspicious packages need further investigation,” officials said in the social media statement.

Authorities reported the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office was sending extra resources to help with the investigation, which they hoped to resolve soon.

Then, just before 12:30 p.m., the Humphreys County Sheriff’s Office announced the Pilot was all clear and would resume normal business.
