We’ve heard that breakfast is the most important meal of the day all of our lives, but it turns out, that saying doesn’t refer to literally anything you eat in the morning. Sure, a bowl of nostalgic, colorful, sweet cereal might hit the spot flavor-wise, but an hour or two later, you’ll probably find yourself floundering thanks to the lack of protein in your morning meal. But you also don’t have to subsist on grilled chicken breast if you want to pack in the protein in the morning, and you don’t have to be a chef, either. That’s because Costco is selling a new protein-packed breakfast item that’s got the nostalgic flavor you love, but with enough fuel to actually power you through until lunchtime.

Instagrammer CostcoHotFinds shared this new addition to Costco stores on Instagram. Premier Protein’s frozen pancakes are now available at stores in the Midwest, and if you love to start your morning with a stack of fluffy pancakes but wish they were more nutritionally substantial, then this is the breakfast you’ve been waiting for.

Each box of Premier Protein pancakes comes with 36 pancakes, which are portioned out into 3-pancake servings, and retails for $12.99. One serving packs 15 grams of protein, and that’s without any toppings. Add a smear of almond butter, peanut butter, or Greek yogurt, and you can boost those macros even further.

Unlike homemade pancakes, which are simple to make but take forever to cook (unless you have a jumbo griddle), these frozen protein pancakes are ready in just 80 seconds. That means they’re totally weekday morning friendly, both for you and for the kids.

CostcoHotFinds shares that these pancakes are “fluffy, light, slightly sweet, and delicious.” Some commenters mentioned they’ve also been able to find these protein-packed pancakes at Sam’s Club and Walmart, too, so if you aren’t in the Midwest or don’t have a Costco membership, you might not be out of luck.

But if you can’t find them in stores, don’t fret. You can always whip up a batch of Martha Stewart’s protein-packed pancakes on the weekend and keep them in the freezer to quickly microwave on busy mornings.
