SCHOOL BOARD APPROVES CHANGES TO ATHLETIC COACHING STAFFS

The Marshall Public Schools Board of Education approved changes to its high school baseball and basketball coaching staffs during its meeting on Tuesday, July 9.

During a closed session, the board accepted the resignations of MHS Boys Basketball Coach Lane Titus and Assistant Baseball Coach Paul Alberson. Greg Woodring had previously stepped down as the MHS head baseball coach in June.

With the coaching vacancies open, the board voted to appoint Ian Verts as Head Baseball Coach, with Ben Locke and Tristan Ramberg being selected as assistant baseball coaches. Verts has also led the MHS Football program the past several seasons.

The board also selected David Hunter as High School Golf Coach.

Outside of athletics, the board approved the employment of Elaine Kelly as a fourth grade teacher, and Heather Howard as a long term sub for Eastwood Elementary School.
