As summer continues, the Portsmouth Public Library is bustling with a variety of activities for residents of all ages, from toddlers to adults. The library's packed schedule promises to enrich the community with educational and enjoyable events throughout the next week.

    For the Younger Set
Starting off the week, the Move & Groove Story Time will take place on Tuesday, July 9, from 10:30 am to 11:00 am in the Levenson Room. Aimed at toddlers and preschoolers, this interactive session will involve songs, movement, and engaging stories, making it perfect for children ages 2-5 years old along with their caregivers.

    Language and Literature Enthusiasts
The library will also host several language discussion groups throughout the week. The Spanish Language Discussion Group meets on Tuesday from 10:30 am to 11:30 am in the Hilton Garden Inn Room, providing a vibrant environment for individuals looking to improve or maintain their Spanish language skills.

    Engaging the Youth
On Monday, July 8, from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm, the library’s Makerspace Mondays in the Levenson Room offers kids from kindergarten through fifth grade a chance to get creative with crafts and science projects. Meanwhile, the older kids aren’t left out; the Babysitting Course on Tuesday from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm in the same room is a great opportunity for tweens and teens to learn essential skills in childcare.

    Adult Activities
The World Affairs Discussion Group provides an opportunity for adults interested in global events to engage in meaningful discussions online. This virtual event will take place on Monday from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Additionally, the Weekly Meditation session on Wednesday from 12:15 pm to 1:00 pm in the Levenson Room offers a serene break for adults and teens to rejuvenate through guided meditation.

    Special Events
A highlight of the week is the Ikenobo Demonstration on Friday, July 12, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm in the Levenson Room, showcasing the intricate and beautiful art of Japanese flower arranging. This cultural event is open to all ages and is a wonderful opportunity to learn about a unique aspect of Japanese culture.

    Wrapping Up the Week
On Saturday, July 13, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, the Reading Dogs - Chloe & Tillie! event invites children to read aloud to friendly, attentive dogs in the Youth Services area, fostering a fun and supportive environment to practice reading skills.

Each of these events is designed to provide valuable learning opportunities, cultural exposure, and fun for the community.
