Cheap Alternative to IKEA Pax Closet System Totally Flips the Script
By Lauren Wellbank,
Fans of IKEA's Pax closet system are going to want to pay special attention to what one woman was able to put together using pieces from her local Lowe's store. Not only does this walk-in closet masterpiece look nearly identical to something you could put together using the IKEA setup, but she swears that these products cost her a fraction of the price.
Okay, she had our interest but now she's got our attention!
Fortunately for us and other's like us, she walks everyone through her entire process, including what she spent on each piece.
Replying to @user19374949278 Here is a detailed cost breakdown and every item in total I used to transform our master closet with the closetmaid system from @Lowe’s! CLOSET DIMENSIONS: 9ft x 4ft7in and 8ft ceilings Everything was incredibly easy to build- this took me 2 days to complete working on it on and off and that includes removing and patching up the old closet. You can find everything I used 🔗 in my b i 0 under “lowes closet makeover”! #lowesfind #closetmaidcloset #closetmaidsystem #closetmakeover #customcloset #masterclosetinspo
We're absolutely blown away by how amazing the closet looks in @creatively.crisp's video, especially after seeing how little she paid for some of those pieces. But that's not the only reason we're paying close attention to how she put this design together. It seems like the Closetmaid setup has more to offer than just an affordable alternative to IKEA, it's apparently very easy to customize as well.
According to one commenter who used the same products in her closet, the Closetmaid pieces have additional accessories that allow you to further personalize your design.
"We have the same system in our closet," she wrote. "And the cool thing is you can buy more boards and cut them to size to customize your shelves based on your needs."
Don't get us wrong, we're not hating on the Pax system at all. In fact, we're actually really huge fans of the design, especially when it comes to how easy it is to customize.
Couple Uses IKEA Pax System in Their Entryway
If you're anything like us, you're desperately in need of a good entryway solution that will allow you to get your home more organized. That's a problem that this couple figured out how to solve pretty effortlessly when they turned IKEA's Pax system into their very own mini-mudroom.
The closet pieces worked wonders in this space due to their customizability, allowing them to personalize everything so that it fit with the rest of the home's decor.
And they didn't stop there, either. If you take a look at their video you can see just how much hard work and intention went into building this space up, making it a chic family command center that the average person wouldn't even realize existed!
IKEA Alternative Makes an Affordable Option
We have to admit that we're a little obsessed with the Pax system , but seeing the Closetmaid option offered an excited alternative, especially for those of us who can't afford to make a big splurge on the IKEA setup.
Now all we have to do is figure out how to turn our regular closet into a walk-in and we'll be ready to go!
