I Just Read a 'Bachelorette' Theory on Reddit and Now I'm Convinced I Know How Jenn's Season Ends

Let me start by saying I have no way to know for certain how Jenn Tran's history-making season of The Bachelorette will end. I avoid Reality Steve like the plague because I genuinely don't want any spoilers (and he tends to, well, spoil the whole thing). But one Reddit discussion thread from the night of The Bachelorette premiere this week included a nugget that I can't quite ignore. (Warning: Don't read ahead unless you want to hear the theory, which I'm now convinced has to be true.)

The premiere episode features a tiny bit of drama, but mostly a bunch of close encounters of the awkward kind (see: the dude who referred to the size of his own package during his first meeting with Jenn). I was immediately drawn to several of the suitors, particularly Jonathan with his adorable "patient" routine (it also didn't hurt that he was super handsome when the bandage came off) and Marcus, who shared his story of being injured while on active military duty.

In the end, Jenn gave her rose to a pretty predictable choice (no spoilers on this from me), but I'm fairly certain he'll be the source of some drama in the not-so-distant future and sent packing, especially from what I can tell from the trailer .

At the end of the first episode, ABC gave us with what they always give us: a look ahead at the season with very carefully edited clips. These clips are cleverly crafted to make it seem like certain things will happen that will inevitably not happen, and vice versa.

In Jenn's season trailer, we get a lot of quotes that are supposed to make us feel a certain way (I don't have any inside knowledge here, it's just what ABC's smart editors always do). She says, "I also see a future where I end up alone." She later says, "I have to choose myself." Jesse Palmer even reveals that a decision she's making has never been made by any Bachelorette before. The video concludes with her putting her final rose back on the pedestal.

All of this is meant to imply that maybe she chooses "herself," AKA none of the guys. But it can't really be that simple, which is where the above-mentioned Reddit thread comes in.

One Reddit user chimed in with the idea, "I think Jenn will propose to the future fiancé. Hear me out. In first clip she says, 'I can’t let you propose to me.'" The user continued, "Jesse says, 'No bachelorette has ever done this before.' I think Jenn will bend the knee at the end."

After reading this theory, I'm convinced it has to be right (and I'm not the only one—the post did get 12 upvotes after all!). Jenn proposing to her choice of man would align with all of the soundbites from the trailer. It certainly would be unprecedented. And it would be great TV.
