MANDAN, ND ( KXNET ) — The Lyons Heart Gravel Bike Race is taking place soon, and some roads will be closed.

According to a news release, the race is taking place from July 12-13 in Mandan.

A portion of Main Street is going to be closed on July 13 for the start and end of the race, but the majority of the race will be on rural gravel roads in Morton County.

Main Street from Third Avenue NW to just west of Fourth Avenue NW is going to be closed from 2 a.m. to 5 p.m. on July 13, Fourth Avenue NW from Main Street to the alley will be closed as well.

At the same time (2 a.m. to 5 p.m.), the south side parking lane on Main Street will be closed to parking from Dykshoorn Park to 10th Avenue NW.

From 7-9 a.m. on July 13, traffic west on Main Street from Sixth Avenue NW to 10th Avenue NW will be held to let race participants exit Mandan on Highway 10.

West Main Street will stay open to allow access to Morton Mandan Public Library.

Drivers are encouraged to use First Street as a detour while truck drivers should find an alternate route.
