MINOT, ND ( KXNET ) — In a little more than a week, commercial and food vendors will start swarming the fairgrounds from all across the country.

Fairgoers at this year’s State Fair will see more vendors there than in previous years.

According to the marketing director of the North Dakota State Fair, there will be 261 commercial vendors along with 65 food vendors, including some award-winning sellers from last year and some new food booths who are well known in Minnesota for being a big “Dill” in the world of pizza.

Of the 65 food vendors, 23 will be competing in the fair’s annual food frenzy competition to see which vendor has the tastiest treats.

“We have a couple of new vendors submitting their food of choice one of them being an award-winning dill pickle pizza from Minnesota which is where I believe he is from, so he’s had an award and we are going to put him over in West Park. It’s a really fun event so we highly encourage the vendors to participate the more participation the better,” said Charlene Ratliff, the marketing director of the North Dakota State Fair

The competition will be held on the first Friday of the fair and the winner will be announced later that day.
