WICHITA FALLS ( KFDX/KJTL ) — A former Wichita County deputy who pleaded guilty in February 2023 to charges related to sexual misconduct and violating the civil rights of inmates is back in jail after the sheriff’s office said it found guns in his possession at his residence on River Road.

Brett Brasher is charged with three counts of felon in possession of firearms.

Wichita County Sheriff David Duke said the sheriff’s office received information Brasher was firing shots on his property, and residents in the area were concerned and frightened.

Reportedly, Brasher was shooting off his front porch and shot a stray dog.

A search warrant was obtained on July 8, and firearms were found in the home, along with ammunition, which is a felony offense for a person convicted of a felony.

Brasher could revoke his probation and be imprisoned if found guilty of these charges.

Brasher faced 13 charges related to sexual misconduct with inmates, violation of inmates’ civil rights, compelling prostitution, and other charges in 2021. He avoided trial by pleading guilty to some of the charges and got five years of probation.
