BRODHEAD — Tyler Altermatt had two hits and drove in three runs as Jefferson’s summer baseball team beat host Brodhead 10-3 on Tuesday.

The Eagles (7-2) held a 13-3 edge in hits, with Bentley Wagner, Cale Schmidt and Sam Steies also each contributing two hits apiece. Wagner scored three times out of the leadoff spot.

Ben Kalmon started on the bump for Jefferson and allowed two earned runs on no hits with five walks and two strikeouts. Schmidt pitched five innings of three-hit ball to earn the decision, fanning three and walking none.

Noah Copsey singled home a run in the second inning, followed by Kalmon doubling in another run on a line shot to right field that pushed the Eagles’ lead to 4-0. With two away, Altermatt contributed a two-run single on a ground ball to left.

In the Jefferson third, Tyler Steinke singled home Sam Steies, who led off the frame with a double to left, before coming around on a passed ball to make it 8-3. In the fourth, Altermatt contributed another two-out hit, singling to left on a knock that plated Wagner.

Jefferson plays a doubleheader at Johnson Creek on Monday.
