Rey Mysterio Pitches Perfect Main Event For WWE PLE In Mexico That Everyone Wants Booked

WWE doesn’t have a Premium Live Event (PLE) set for Mexico, but Rey Mysterio has pitched a main event that will be remembered for decades.

With WWE under new ownership, we are seeing major changes. From how the product is viewed at home to the overall structure of WWE to how working with other promotions is now possible and the list goes-on. One of the recent additions, especially in 2024, is seeing several PLEs outside of North America. WWE has visited Australia, France, Scotland and Saudi Arabia within a few months. Each time, what a massive pop from the crowd.

Speaking on Insight with Chris Van Vliet , Rey Mysterio pitched a match against Dominik Mysterio and Santos Escobar at a potential premium live event in Mexico. “I think that would be a very exciting time for not only the fans, but for me to be able to go back to where I once started and give them something special. Even if it’s the last one. I would love to close off in Mexico, if that were to happen.”

Lucha Libre Style Match

“Why not [a match against [Dominik Mysterio]? It would be perfect,” continued Mysterio. “Hell, if you wanna get even dirtier, you can throw Dom in there. Maybe, Santos Escobar and myself, and the loser either takes his mask off and retires. Or, shaves their head off and retires. Maybe a three-way dance. There’s so many ways we can go. But, keeping in mind, let’s give the fans in Mexico a Lucha Libre style match where there’s something on the line that they’ve seen for years and years.”

Rey’s time is nearing an end and he deserves to headline the first PLE from Mexico. Wrestling his son would make it bitter sweet and Santos is a star inside the ring. They even keep that Lucha Libre style, meaning someone will lose a major part of their wrestling identity. So, anyone else dig what Rey Mysterio is calling for in WWE PLE from Mexico?
