    Nominations open for “Coolest thing made in Minnesota”

    The Minnesota Chamber of Commerce announced today that nominations are open for the “Coolest Thing Made in Minnesota” contest. This voting-style contest allows the public to nominate a “cool” product manufactured in the state.

    “Minnesota is a state of innovation that has brought many remarkable and life changing products to the market,” said Doug Loon, President and CEO of the Minnesota Chamber of Commerce. “It is this innovation that has built our economy and supports our cherish quality of life.”

    “This is an excellent opportunity to celebrate the incredible creativity and craftmanship found right here in Minnesota,” said Loon. “We invite the public’s involvement in this contest! Please nominate your favorite product and remember to vote.”

    Timeline for the “Coolest thing made in Minnesota” contest:

    · July 9: Nominations open

    · Aug. 15: Nominations close

    · Sept. 3: First bracket announced

    · Sept. 3—Oct. 4: Public voting begins

    · Oct. 8: Winner announced at the 2024 Manufacturers’ Summit

    After the nomination period closes, the first bracket will be announced in September. The public will then vote on products via head-to-head matchup in five rounds until the winner is announced at the 2024 Manufacturers’ Summit.

    Any product manufactured in Minnesota is eligible for nomination and companies are not required to be members of the Minnesota Chamber. However, nominees must have been in business for at least two years and have an NAICS code between 31 and 33.
