CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - A woman convicted of murdering and dismembering her landlord has received her prison sentence, though her attorneys are vowing to appeal.

Prosecutors said 69-year-old Frances Walker was murdered in October of 2022, not long after she opted to evict Sandra Kolalou from her Arcadia Terrace boarding home. Walker had received complaints from other tenants.

Kolalou was accused of killing Walker and hiding parts of her body in the home’s freezer as well as a garbage can at Foster Beach.

She allegedly held a tow truck driver at knifepoint while disposing of evidence.

This past April, Kolalou was convicted of murder, dismemberment and identity theft. She has now been sentenced to 58 years in prison.

A Cook County judge compared the crime to something out of a horror movie and pointed to a lack of remorse from Kolalou.

During the trial, Kolalou apologized to Walker’s family and insisted she’s not a killer.
