Massive Bathroom in Posh Silversea Cruise Cabin Is Nicer Than a Luxury Hotel

Cruise ship cabins aren't usually known for their spacious square footage. When you've gotta fit enough rooms for several hundred (if not several thousand) people on one boat, you've gotta make effective use of your very limited space. That's doubly true of the cabins' bathrooms - the average cruiser ain't getting much more than a sink, toilet, and tiny shower.

But Silversea's cruise ships are, quite literally, built different. Designed to give every guest a luxury experience, this boutique cruise line prioritizes space and style in all of their ships' staterooms. For example: Leah Block wasn't even in one of the "fancier" cabins on her Silversea cruise ship, yet her cabin's bathroom rivaled that of a luxury hotel suite's. See for yourself:

If @leahblock_ hadn't opened with the "cruise room tour" spiel, I wouldn't have known she was on a ship until she stepped out of that bathroom. This isn't just a posh bathroom by cruise ship standards; this is a posh bathroom, period!

Gone are the tiny showers and the cheap plastic sidings you'd find in your "average" cruise ship bathroom. The spacious, fully-tiled bathroom fits both a decently sized standalone shower and a separate bathtub, the perfect size and depth for a good long soak. No tiny wall-mounted sinks here, either. A full wall was devoted to a big sink with a massive mirror and enough counter space to spread out a full trip's worth of toiletries on - though there was plenty of storage on the walls to negate counter clutter.

The rest of the cabin and balcony, while fairly standard in terms of layout, were still quite spacious and tastefully decorated (the giant wall mirror really helped the space feel more open, too). While Leah didn't really include it in her room tour, I did peep that walk-in closet off to the side, yet another luxury in a cruise ship cabin . What a treat!

    Silversea's Staterooms

As a boutique cruise brand, Silversea prioritizes quality over quantity when it comes to their ships. Though their ships are smaller than the typical massive ocean liners common in the cruise industry, Silversea claims to offer one of the " highest space-per-guest ratios at sea ," and all their suites feature ocean views - no miserable interior suites on these ships. Oh, and did I mention all Silversea guests get their own butler?

Leah didn't specify what kind of stateroom she had, but after digging through the suites on the ship she was most likely on, this is probably one of the standard veranda suites, not even one of the more deluxe staterooms on the ship overall (this is still a luxury boutique brand, though, so even the "basic" cabins are pretty pricey). Silversea's website does note that not all of these cabins come with a full-sized bathroom with a shower and bathtub like Leah had. Judging by the photos online, though, even the "smaller" bathrooms look very nice.

But luxurious suites and personalized butler service only scratch the surface of what Silversea has to offer. With more than 900 destinations on all seven continents, you're sure to find the perfect deluxe cruise trip of your dreams. I won't lie, they are pricey compared to your average cruise line (though rates vary widely based on season, itineraries, trip length, etc.), but if you want to splurge to get the absolute quality of your dream cruise vacation , don't sleep on Silversea!
