Donations, services sought for third multi-agency resource event

Community Connections to Prosperity will host the third multi-agency resource event (MARE) in Barron County in mid-August. These events help address the needs of county residents by bringing services together under one roof and meeting their needs onsite. Since the first event in September 2023, more than 200 people have been helped.

Come together to help community members in need have been more than 25 agencies offering help with housing, food, clothing, mental health, heat and utilities, transportation, medical care, victim services, disability resources, employment, childcare and more.

“It has been so inspiring to see all these agencies coming together to help our neighbors,” said Sarah Turner, coalition co-chair. “We need the support of the community to help keep these events going strong. If your business or organization is able to help in some way, please reach out.”

The coalition is asking for community support to enhance services and better meet attendee's needs. Donations of nonperishable food items, laundry supplies, and full-size personal care items are requested. Monetary donations are also being accepted. Event planners are seeking community groups who can provide and serve a hot meal for attendees or sponsor a meal for agencies and volunteers at each event.

Any individual, agency or business who is able to help provide services or a meal, donate supplies or money, or would be interested in sponsoring future events is asked to contact event organizers at alisa.lammers@co.barron.wi.us or call 715-537-5691.

CCP is a local coalition working to help individuals, organizations and agencies understand and help alleviate the challenges of poverty. Its mission is to empower every one in Barron County with skills, resources, and personal connections so as to live lives free of poverty.
