    STATE FAIR ANNOUNCES MILITARY FLAG RETREAT HONOREES

    Four area veterans will be among this year’s honorees at the Missouri State Fair’s military retreat ceremonies next month.

    The fair announced Thursday morning the 11 honorees that will receive recognition during a ceremony each day of the 122nd Missouri State Fair outside the Historic Administration Building. Area residents receiving recognition this year include Beau Williams of Hughesville on Aug. 13th, who served in the Army, Charlie Guthrie of Marshall on Aug. 15th, who served in the Navy, Michael Garvey of Brookfield on Aug. 16th, who served in the Marine Corps, and Holli Meushke of Warrensburg on Aug. 17th, who served in the Air Force.

    The 122nd Missouri State Fair runs August 8th through the 18th on the state fairgrounds in Sedalia.

    2024 Missouri State Fair Flag Retreat Honorees
    Flag Retreat Ceremony is 5:30 each afternoon except Aug. 7th, which is at 5:15.

    • Aug. 8th: Perry Burch of Columbia, Navy
    • Aug. 9th: Jack Jackson of St. Albans, Marine Corps
    • Aug. 10: Edgar “Joe” Dayringer of Kearney, Marine Corps and Army National Guard
    • Aug. 11th: Jack Cottrell of Grant City, Army
    • Aug. 12: Russell Miller of Columbia, Army
    • Aug. 13: Beau Williams of Hughesville, Army
    • Aug. 14: Greg McManus of Rogersville, Army National Guard
    • Aug. 15: Charlie Guthrie of Marshall, Navy
    • Aug. 16: Michael B. Garvey of Brookfield, Marine Corps
    • Aug. 17: Holli D. Meushke of Warrensburg, Air Force
    • Aug. 18: Gary Lee Earl of Jasper, Army National Guard
