The Perfect Couple Teaser Trailer: Nicole Kidman & Liev Schreiber Lead Deadly Netflix Series

The Perfect Couple teaser trailer previews Nicole Kidman and Liev Schreiber leading a deadly Netflix series based on Elin Hilderbrand’s best-selling novel showing what unfolds as a young bride marries into a wealthy family.

Consisting of six episodes and debuting on September 5, The Perfect Couple follows Amelia Sacks (played by Eve Hewson) as she’s about to marry into one of the wealthiest families on Nantucket. Even though her mother-in-law disapproves, she’s spent heavily in terms of planning what shapes up to be the most lavish wedding of the season. Things seem to be going well until a body turns up on the beach, with secrets being unraveled. Before long, the stage is set for a real-life investigation that might as well be taken from a novel, as everyone is a suspect.

What happens in The Perfect Couple teaser trailer?

The trailer begins with Kidman and Schreiber. Their characters are asked about their marriage and the fact that it has lasted 29 years. They laugh it off, seeming to downplay it. Even though things seem cheerful enough, with guests arriving, the mood soon sours. One character suggests that the best way to survive in the family is just to remain on the sidelines. Kidman’s successful novelist character is interrogated as the teaser progresses.

Schreiber’s character wonders why there is such a fuss over an accidental drowning. From there, The Perfect Couple teaser highlights the drama’s ensemble and hints that the series will have a bit of a comedic tone as a few moments highlight the absurdness of the rich characters. The teaser ends with Kidman’s character saying it’s not possible to truly know someone.

Along with Kidman, Schreiber, and Hewson, the cast includes Dakota Fanning, Billy Howle, Jack Reynor, Ishaan Khatter, Meghann Fahy, Sam Nivola, Michael Beach, Donna Lynne Champlin, Mia Isaac, and Isabelle Adjani.

Susanne Bier will direct all six episodes and executive produce, marking a reunion for Kidman as they previously collaborated on HBO’s The Undoing. Jenna Lamia serves as showrunner and executive producer alongside Hilderbrand and Shawn Levy for 21 Laps Entertainment, Gail Berman and Hend Baghdady for The Jackal Group, Kidman and Per Saari for Blossom Films, and Josh Barry.
