December 25, 1938 – July 6, 2024 - James A. Ledridge passed away peacefully at his home in Lake Oswego, on July 6, 2024.

Jim was born in La Grande, Oregon on Christmas Day 1938 to parents Sam and Princess Ledridge, the 6th of six children. In 1957 Jim enlisted in the Navy and returned two years later as a permanently disabled veteran. He persevered and attended Eastern Oregon University earning a degree in Education. He taught at Milton Freewater before moving to Lake Oswego in 1968, where he met his wife Linda. He taught at Lake Oswego High School for more than 25 years, where his devotion to students and their education impacted thousands of lives, before retiring in 1994.

Jim did not let a wheelchair slow him down. He was a dynamic and charismatic teacher, an avid fisherman (who lost at least two wheelchairs in the river), he gave generously of his time to his friends and neighbors, volunteered at the VA, and was an inspiration to everyone he met, especially to his son. He will be remembered for his wry sense of humor, fearlessness, independence, and dedication to his family and the broad circle of friends he maintained throughout his life.

Jim is survived by his wife Linda; son Matt and his wife Christy; and two grandsons Henry and Samuel.
