( WJET/WFXP ) — A New York man is facing a new set of charges after police said he barricaded himself in his home and made threats to people inside the house and police.

Jamestown, NY police were called to help probation officers with a home check at a home on the city’s east side around 3:22 p.m. on July 10. However, things quickly devolved after police arrived.

When officers arrived, the suspect, identified as 43-year-old Robert Schroeder, of Jamestown, allegedly barricaded himself inside the home and started threatening to shoot officers along with other threats.

Despite numerous attempts to de-escalate the situation, Schroeder still refused to listen and allegedly threatened to shoot the people inside the house with him, which caused police to force their way in.
