Chicopee updates water and sewer construction schedule

CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP)– The City of Chicopee is continuing to provide information on the city’s water infrastructure construction project.

Beginning July 15, James Street will reopen to traffic and Montcalm Street will now be closed Monday through Friday to thru traffic between James and Britton Streets. There will be exceptions for local traffic.

The full schedule is as follows:

• 7/15- 7/26- Installation of water main on Montcalm Street (Starting near Lukasik Street and moving Northerly)- ROAD CLOSED to thru traffic
• 7/15- 7/19- Installation of water services on Langevin Street
• 7/22- 7/26- Installation of water services on Broad Street
• 7/15- 7/26- Installation of drainage main on Dorothy and May Street
