Dubois County Cares to host CommUNITY Youth Day

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – Dubois County Cares is hosting an event at the Tri-County YMCA this weekend.

Dubois County Cares says its mission is to prevent substance misuse as well as improve mental health among teens in Dubois County.

Event organizers say CommUNITY Youth Day is an event open to all area youth ages 14 through 19. It will be at the YMCA in Ferdinand on July 13 from 4 to 8 p.m. Eastern Time. The event will be full of activities like a pickleball tournament, basketball free play, board games, crafts, air hockey, pizza and more.

Dubois County Cares says the purpose of CommUNITY Youth Day is to bring together teens from all high schools in the county for “good, friendly” competition and collaboration between each of the area schools.

Organizers say there will also be rewards for all those in attendance. The first 75 to arrive will have their names entered in a drawing for two free Holiday World Tickets. There is also a grand prize for the pickleball tournament’s winning team of two with the prize being worth $200. In addition, door prizes will be drawn every half hour for all those in attendance.
