Have you driven on the deadliest road in Massachusetts?

There is one road in each state that bears the horrifying reputation of being the place where the most vehicular-related deaths have occurred over time. This particular road has seen its share of gruesome accidents and tragedies, being the place where multiple deaths take place each year.

Be it lack of precautionary measure, construction, or road rage, something about this road makes it considerably less safe to travel than the state's other roads.

According to a list compiled by Summit Fleet , the most dangerous road in all of Massachusetts is Interstate 495 . 9.5 people die along this storied road each year.

Here's what Summit Fleet had to say about compiling the data to discover the most dangerous road in each state:

"The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration calculated the fatal crash rate using the count of fatal crashes. Obtaining this data for 2008 to 2019 from the NHTSA, Geotab, a fleet management firm, compiled a list of the most deadly highways in the US. The aim of this compilation is not to promote a state of agitation but to urge drivers to take precautionary measures, and advocate authorities to keep developing the infrastructure and implement better traffic control throughout the country."

It's not the road, although some of 495 does suck. It's the people on the roads that make them unsafe.
