Mom slammed after people spot unfortunate double meaning behind name at her gender reveal

People love to get creative when it comes to gender reveals, hosting large parties to reveal the sex of their future child.

One family posted photos of what looks like a fun celebration, but people were quick to notice their last name provides an unfortunate double meaning.

The photos were posted on Reddit. The three photos show decorations throughout the yard, including pink and blue balloons, cookies, flowers and signs.

Because the baby doesn’t have a name, the parents seem to refer to him or her as “baby” and their last name. They have signs around the yard with the nickname on them.

Though this is normal, their last name takes on a whole new meaning when paired with the word “baby.”

The signs read: “Baby Harmer”. It's also written on cookies and more.

The Reddit user posted the photos with the caption: “Baby Harmer… Accusation or reveal?”

The photos were revealed to belong to MyKayla Skinner , an Olympic gymnast who has recently drawn criticism over a now-deleted Youtube video saying current U.S. gymnasts “don’t work as hard” as they used to.

She is married to Jonas Harmer, and the two welcomed a baby named Charlotte in 2023. People joked that neither last name would work.

“Baby Skinner was too specific, so they had to tone it down a bit.”

Another said: “HOW DO THEY NOT SEE THIS!”
