There’s something to be said for a group that commits to the bit. In a 1996 episode of The Simpsons , titled “Homerpalooza,” the famously prescient writers created a sequence involving Cypress Hill accidentally booking the London Symphony Orchestra for a gig. On Wednesday (July 10th), the hip-hop act made the joke a reality.

In a special one-night-only performance , Cypress Hill took the stage at Royal Albert Hall alongside the London Symphony Orchestra to run through reimagined versions of classic tracks like “Insane in the Brain,” “A to the K,” and “I Wanna Get High.” Watch fan-shot footage of the performance below.

For the reportedly sold-out performance, the group also performed their 1993 album, Black Sunday , in its entirety.

“It’s been something that we’ve talked about for many years since The Simpsons episode first aired,” B-Real explained to BBC before taking the stage. “It’s very special for us, and it’s coming off the heels of our 30th anniversary for our Black Sunday album. We’ve played a lot of historical venues throughout our career and stuff like that, but nothing as prestigious as this.”

The BBC write-up also noted a mix-up that took place during rehearsal, when the members of Cypress Hill said the word “glock” and the orchestra players assumed they were referring to an abbreviated word for the glockenspiel, a small percussion instrument.

Having wrapped their “We Legalized It” tour, Cypress Hill still have a few festival dates and one-off shows coming up. They’ll also be continuing their symphonic streak with a show accompanied by the Omaha Symphony. Look for deals or grab tickets to any of the upcoming events here .
