Brad Pitt Is Reportedly in a ‘Very Tough Spot’ Waiting for His Kids To Do One Thing

Things on the home front do not appear to be going well for Brad Pitt. Insiders revealed that the Fight Club star is in a “very tough spot” with his six kids with estranged ex Angelina Jolie, and it doesn’t seem like the situation will change any time soon.

Sources told In Touch Weekly that the thought of Maddox, 22, Pax, 20, Zahara, 19, Shiloh, 18, and 15-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne one day speaking out about their experience with their dad is “a dark cloud hanging over Brad’s head.” They explained, “He can muzzle Angelina with his lawyers, but he can’t muzzle his own kids.”

“They’ve stayed totally quiet so far, but at some point down the line it’s very plausible that they’re going to want to tell their side of the story. There’s nothing to stop them from doing it,” the source continued, adding that if they ever give a tell-all interview, Pitt “will just have to sit back and take it.”

“If these kids eventually do want to turn around and get the ultimate closure by laying it all out in the open and telling the world what they’ve been through, it’s going to be Brad’s worst nightmare and no doubt will be the ultimate humiliation for him,” the source added. “He’s in a very tough spot because it’s not like he can even try and talk to them about it because that could only make things worse. So all he can do is wait for the hammer to drop and try to put it out of his mind.”

Things have been tense between Pitt and his kids since Pitt allegedly abused Jolie and his children on a 2016 plane trip. Jolie’s lawyers wrote in court papers, per PEOPLE , “While Pitt’s history of physical abuse of Jolie started well before the family’s September 2016 plane trip from France to Los Angeles, this flight marked the first time he turned his physical abuse on the children as well. Jolie then immediately left him.”

An insider told PEOPLE earlier this week that Pitt only sees his younger children. “[Angelina] has the kids most of the time, but per their agreement, he has visitation with the younger kids,” they revealed, adding, “He has virtually no contact with the adult kids.”

Many of his adult kids have also publicly and/or legally dropped “Pitt” from their last name, which the In Touch source said was “not something [Angelina’s] trying to encourage” and the kids “made their own minds up” about it. Only time will tell if they’ll want to go one step further and explain this public distancing from their dad in the future, or if they’ll just decide to leave it all in the past.
