SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — In addition to the tornadoes in Western New York, the National Weather Service has confirmed that tornadoes touched down in Oswego County and Wayne County.

    Oswego County

This tornado was rated an EF-1 (on a scale of 0 to 5, with 5 being the strongest) and occurred in the Town of Redfield.

The tornado had estimated winds of 90 mph and had a path length of 2.2 miles and a path width of 50 yards.

There were downed trees on Route 17 in Redfield and the rest of the damage path was inaccessible and could only be surveyed with aerial imagery.

The Doppler radar out of Montague (on the Tug Hill Plateau) corroborated the report with radar data indicating a tornado in that area Wednesday afternoon.

    Wayne County

Eye witness reports and reports of vehicle traffic impacted by a brief tornado touchdown in the Town of Wolcott led to a confirmation of a weak EF-0 tornado. The tornado was deemed weak because there was no tree nor property damage.

    EF Scale

    EF0…..65 to 85 mph
    EF1…..86 to 110 mph
    EF2…..111 to 135 mph
    EF3…..136 to 165 mph
    EF4…..166 to 200 mph
    EF5…..greater than 200 mph
