When it's not possible to meet up in person, there's only one acceptable alternative and that's a video chat. For a Golden Retriever named Oakley who wants to talk to Grandma but can't, FaceTime is the next best thing.

A July 10 TikTok video shared by Lacie Lind ( @lacielind ) shows Oakley and Grandma having a little chat via FaceTime and it's seriously so cute. Just wait until you see how sweet this interaction is. It'll make you melt.

In the clip captioned, "Anyone else having full conversations with their golden?" we see Oakley on the couch with Dad as the two enjoy a FaceTime call with Grandma. Oakley, who appears to be fully invested in the conversation, even angles, then drops his head in disappointment when Grandma says she won't see him tomorrow. The good boy seems to perk up at the mention of seeing Papa Tony and Daisy instead.

"And you're gonna run and play and have a really good time," she tells him before asking, "Can you smile for Grandma?"

We don't know if the Golden smiled or not, but their exchange is the sweetest and Oakleys fans feel the exact same way.

"Goldens make this world a better place," one person said. "Ridiculously cute. I am in love," another wrote. "This is the most precious thing ever!" another added.

By the looks of it, Oakley and Grandma are close, so we hope they get together soon!

    Do Dogs Understand Video Calls?

As adorable as it is to see Oakley and Grandma "chat" throughĀ a FaceTime session, it's worth wondering how much of those calls the pup really understands, if any.

Zay Satchu, DVM, co-founder and Chief Veterinary Officer at Bond Vet previously told POPSUGAR that dogs don't understand calls in general "due to their poor vision of small and up close objects."

"The brightness of the screen, combined with the small size, makes the image hard to focus on for them, and it is likely very distorted. However, they usually can pick up on the sound of their owner's voice."

Oakley may have responded to Grandma's voice and his head tilts were just his way of trying to listen. But either way, there are benefits to giving your pooch a call if you'e away the site adds, but only if they're not prone to added stress and worry trying to figure out where the voice is coming from.

Even if they don't fully understand what's happening digitally, it's still pretty darn cute to see their reaction.
