Congratulations to WhirliDogs

On Monday, July 15, WhirliDogs will have its ribbon-cutting to commemorate a lot of good work. For those who do not know, the WhirliDogs Café and Training Center showcases the power of possibility for folks with special needs and disabilities through valuable paid work experiences and training opportunities. As a board member for about four years, I can tell you that this has been a special project to work on and just what Wilson needs.

I wanted to write to congratulate everyone who joined us to work on this project. While I wish that I could join our team for this special event, I will be away with my National Guard service. Nonetheless, I encourage everyone to join and celebrate this tremendous accomplishment. I have said it before and I will say it again: Wilson works together.

Our community is one that has room for everyone. We need to continue to think creatively and work together to build spaces like WhirliDogs that let our people shine. Thank you to the visionaries, board members, volunteers and the community that made this possible.
