    Paraglider falls 80 feet in Boulder County, taken to hospital

    DENVER (KDVR) — A man fell 80 feet while paragliding in Boulder County Thursday and was taken to the hospital after being rescued by Boulder Fire-Rescue and partnering agencies.

    According to Boulder Fire-Rescue, the man fell near Sixth Street and Locust Avenue around 12:15 p.m. The area is close to Foothills Park and Wonderland Lake. First responders found the man aafter his fall and helped him down the hill on foot.

    He was then taken by ambulance to Boulder Community Hospital.

    “Today’s response demonstrated a really good, collaborative effort by everybody on scene,” said Boulder Fire-Rescue acting Battalion Chief Joe Gross in a release. “We are grateful we were able to get the patient on his way to the hospital as quickly as possible.”

    Two Boulder Fire-Rescue crews responded to the crash, along with Rocky Mountain Rescue, Boulder County Sheriff’s Office and Boulder Open Space Mountain Parks Rangers. Multiple first responders prepared the patient for transport, Boulder Fire-Rescue reported.

    The agency did not provide information on the patient’s condition after arriving at the hospital.
