Springfield residents embracing heat wave at Forest Park

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Here in western Massachusetts we’ve been experiencing another heat wave this week.

Despite the hot July weather, it was still pretty busy at Forest Park in Springfield. There were quite a few people out walking and jogging and some people 22News talked to didn’t seem to mind the intense summer heat and humidity too much.

“Honestly I like it, I think it’s a little humid and it can be gross and you can get sweaty but I think I like that it’s been nice and I’ve been seeing a lot of people out so that’s nice,” said Glenda Serrano of Springfield.

There were also a lot of people who had the right idea by cooling off at the splash park or in the pool. Once again Thursday we made it up into the 90s and our average high temperature for this time of year is 85 degrees.
