New Ski Santa Fe Express, a High-Speed Quad, on Target for 2024–25 Season

Ski Santa Fe is in the process of replacing Chair One (the Santa Fe Super Chief), the main chair out of the base area, with a new high-speed quad.

And, apparently it’s going quite well.

“With the help of a Sikorsky UH-60A Black Hawk helicopter, they recently said “see you later” to the last remnants of the old Super Chief Quad as the final pieces of the old lift were removed,” noted a news release today.

“The helicopter also assisted in pouring concrete for the footer for the new upper lift terminal. The Black Hawk is fitted with bucket under the belly of the craft, allowing it to receive concrete directly from the mixing truck before flying the load to the top.”

The Ski Santa Fe crew has been busy, placing wooden forms for the concrete lift tower bases. There will be 12 new lift towers, according to the resort.

“We look forward to welcoming you all aboard the Santa Fe Express this winter!” the release stated.

The excitement is building—literally—in the Land of Enchantment.
