Joey King Puts Sheer Spin on the Peekaboo Bra Layering Trend in Pink Look for ‘What What Happens Live’ Alongside Rashida Jones in Sacai

Joey King married two trending styles for her appearance on “Watch What Happens Live” on Wednesday. The actress fashioned her take on monochrome dressing and merged a sheer look with the peekaboo bra trend , joining Rashida Jones in a sleeveless floral dress for the late-night talk show.

For the occasion, King wore a pink look courtesy of Patrizia Pepe. The ensemble featured a sheer, bright pink, long-sleeve turtleneck, revealing a mauve bralette beneath. The look included a high-waisted midi skirt, as well.

King continued the color motif, wearing berry-hued strappy heels courtesy of Santoni. The “ A Family Affair ” star accessorized with earrings by Simone Jewels and rings courtesy of Mara Paris.

As for her glam, King’s hair was styled down with soft beach waves by Danielle Priano. Her makeup, which featured a smokey eye and soft lip, was done by artist Allan Avendaño. King’s look was curated by stylist Jared Eng, with assistance from Jordan Blakeman.

Joining King for the late-night talk show, Rashida Jones opted for a variation on floral prints, which have proven popular during the spring and summertime seasons. The “Parks and Recreation” alum fashioned a flowing dress by Sacai. The floral print dress featured a black fabric as the base with flowers in shades of purple, red and yellow cascading down the dress.

Jones’s dress also included a pleated skirt and high neckline, which included a bow element as well. While the bodice of Jones’s dress featured some loose fabric draping, a belt slightly cinched the waist for a comfortable silhouette.

Jones’ look featured florals, a ubiquitous trend during the summer season, and King’s ensemble merged two different trends into one structured ensemble.

Celebrities have been fashioning sheer looks for the past several months, including sheer skirts which have been seen on the runway and on high-profile stars as of late. The peekaboo bra trend has also made a major comeback.

While variations on the peekaboo bra trend including suited looks and exposed cups on dresses, King’s ensemble married a sheer spin to the style, highlighting its versatility.
