In case you haven’t heard the news, Katy Perry’s newest single "Woman's World" — her first since her fifth studio album Smile in 2020 — was released today (with the music video to drop tomorrow). And here at Woman’s World magazine, we can’t help but be thrilled to share our name with the upbeat, sassy anthem that is all about the incredible power of women.

Leading up to today's release, in typical Katy Perry fashion, the 39-year-old former American Idol judge hasn't been shy about teasing the lyrics — going so far as to incorporate them into her wardrobe: check out the train of her red hot dress ensemble below that she wore while heading into Paris’ Vendôme for Fashion Week.

A snippet of lyrics read, “She’s a winner, champion/ Superhuman, number one/ She’s a sister, she’s a mother. Open your eyes, just look around and you’ll discover/ You know/ It’s a woman’s world and you’re lucky to be living in it.”

Then, on Instagram, she offered up a video sneak peek in which we can hear her singing part of the lyrics and doing her take on World War II lady of inspiration, Rosie the Riveter.

To celebrate “Woman’s World," we're celebrating with a round-up of some of Perry’s biggest hits.

Charting out of the gate at number one, "Teenage Dream" was the second single issued from the album of the same name, which also was a number one seller. Perry said of the emotions behind the song, “ When you’re growing up and you’re falling in love for the first time, it’s such an amazing feeling that sometimes you can’t recycle again later on in your life.

    2. “Hot N Cold” (2008)

This song peaked at number three on the charts when it was released in 2008. Second single from Perry's One of the Boys album, "Hot N Cold" gained a lot of traction, earning her a Grammy nomination for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance.

    4. “Firework” (2010)

Teenage Dream spawns yet another number one hit with "Firework," Perry explaining that the song was inspired by something she read in a Jack Kerouac novel. “ That is exactly why I wrote that song , because I want people to feel like they have the potential to go Awe” [referencing her lyric, “Make 'em go, "Awe, awe, awe”].

    5. “California Gurls” (2010): Katy Perry's 'Woman's World'

“California Gurls” hit the top of the Billboard Hot 100, where it remained for six weeks. The song also features Snoop Dogg, who offers his own lyrics on the track. Perry explained that she wanted to release a California themed song after the then-recently released song about New York, “Empire State of Mind,” from Jay-Z and Alicia Keys.

    6. “Wide Awake” (2012)

A bit different from her usual pop hits, Perry released “Wide Awake” in 2012, which was inspired by her divorce from ex-husband Russell Brand. The song was a part of her 2012 album, Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection , which features multiple new songs as well as her Teenage Dream hits.

    7. “I Kissed a Girl” (2008): Katy Perry's 'Woman's World'

One of Perry's best-known hits is this debut single, released on One of the Boys and bringing her massive success. This was the singer's first number one hit, staying at the top of the charts for seven weeks. “I Kissed a Girl” also earned the artist her first Grammy nomination for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance.

    8. “The One That Got Away” (2010)

As the title says, the song is an ode to a former lover who "got away." Topping out at number 3, it was on the Hot 100 chart for a total of 24 weeks. At one point Perry identified just who the one that got away was: singer Josh Groban , revealing this in a game of “ Spill Your Guts or Fill Your Guts ” with James Corden.

    9. “Dark Horse” (2013): Katy Perry's 'Woman's World'

“Dark Horse” arrived as the third single off of Perry’s 2013 fourth studio album PRISM , initially released as a promotional single, but soon becoming her ninth number one hit.

    10. “Roar” (2013)

"Roar" is the lead single off of PRISM. Though very different from her songs on Teenage Dream , "Roar" presents itself as an anthem of self-empowerment and was just as big a success as the rest of Perry's hits.
