Meghan Markle looked very proud as she joined Prince Harry at the 2024 ESPY Awards, where he will be recognized for his work with the Invictus Games.

The Duke and Duschess of Sussex were shown on screen with nothing but smiles. Meghan was seen wearing white haltered dress, hair in a slick back bun and kept her jewerly simple with a pair of diamond earrings and her wedding ring. Prince Harry was by her side in a black suit with a white button up under and a tie.

The Duke of Sussex will receive the Pat Tillman Award for Service at this year's ceremony. The award is named after former footballer Pat Tillman, who gave up a $3.8million contract to enlist in the US Army following the 9/11 tragedy.

Tillman was sadly killed 20 years ago in friendly fire in Afghanistan. Harry and Meghan's united display at the ceremony comes after the Duke faced an intense backlash when he was announced as the recipient of the award.

Pat Tillman's mom has admitted she was "shocked" that a "controversial" figure like Harry would be getting the award. Mary spoke about the nomination and said she hadn't been consulted over the Duke of Sussex receiving the award in her late son's name.

"I am shocked as to why they would select such a controversial and divisive individual to receive the award," she said. Speaking to the Daily Mail , Mary added: "There are recipients that are far more fitting. There are individuals working in the veteran community that are doing tremendous things to assist veterans.

"These individuals do not have the money, resources, connections or privilege that Prince Harry has. I feel that those types of individuals should be recognized."

The ESPY Awards (Excellence in Sports Performance Yearly) is run by the sports TV network, ESPN and honors unsung heroes in the sporting field. Last year, the Pat Tillman award was given to members of the Buffalo Bills football team training staff after they managed to revive a dying player on the field.
