MARLBORO COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — A man is facing a gun charge in Marlboro County after a shooting on Tuesday, deputies said.

Rontell Jamal Drayton was charged on Wednesday with discharging a firearm into an occupied vehicle, the deputies said. He was given a $25,000 bond and booked into the county detention center.

Deputies said Thursday that one person was shot in the arm during “an ongoing dispute between two individuals” in the Red Hill Road area of Bennettsville. The victim was taken to the hospital with injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening.

Deputies initially said two people had been shot , but after investigating further, they said one person was actually injured by glass that was broken during the shooting.

The investigation is continuing, and the sheriff’s office said more arrests are expected.
