    On Thursday, fans were devastated as it was announced the acclaimed Hollywood star died in her sleep after complications from diabetes just four days after her birthday. Duvall was most famously known for her famous role in the classic horror flick The Shining, directed by Stanley Kubrick, as she took on the role of Jack's wife Wendy Torrance. She was also widely recognized for her character in the 1980 film adaptation of Popeye as she took on the beautiful leading character of Olive Oyl.

    After her legendary roles, Duvall went on to be a receipt of a number of prestigious honors including awards at the Cannes Film Festival, British Academy Awards, and Primetime Emmy Awards. After appearing in over 20 films, Duvall retreated from the spotlight for two decades as she lived a private life with her husband in Texas.     According to Celebrity Net Worth , Duvall was reported to be worth an estimated $500,000 at the time of her death. Although the breakdown of her assets have not been listed, it is believed that the majority of her wealth comes from her time in the entertainment industry from acting and producing.

    After starring in over 20 movies throughout her career, Duval also worked behind-the-scenes as a producer. In 1982, Duvall began hosting, narrating, and producing the live-action fairy tale television show Faerie Tale Theatre. Duvall produced 27 episodes of the drama series and made a guest apperance in seven.

    After the success of the fantasy show, Duvall went on to create the Tall Tales & Legends in 1985, which followed a similar theme as it was an anthology series of adaptations of American folk tales. The TV series went on for nine episodes and Duvall was awarded an Emmy nomination for her incredible work.

    Duvall was also the founder of the production company Think Entertainment where she helped to develop programs and television movies for cable channels. Through this company, Duvall moved forward with creating a number of TV shows and movies including the famous horror series Nightmare Classics in 1989 which was an adaptation of classic spooky tales including those written by the famous Edgar Allan Poe.
