The New Jersey Board of Commissioners have announced a $1.3 million transformation of two playgrounds in Newton Lake Park next month.

Starting in August, the construction project will break ground at the Newton Lake and Haddon Creek playgrounds in the 103-acre park. New playground equipment, ADA accessible rubber surfacing, picnic tables, benches, and ADA accessible paths will be installed.

The liaison to the Parks Department, Commissioner Jeffrey Nash “these improvements are necessary to ensure that these treasured community assets can continue serving our children and families for years to come,” said Camden County Commissioner Jeffrey Nash, liaison to the Parks Department. “These playgrounds are two highlights of Newton Lake Park, and we cannot wait to unveil the new and improved sites later this fall.”

The project is estimated to take 90 days to complete.
