He leads the Twins in multiple offensive categories, played in all 93 games, and even pitched.

And now utility player Willi Castro is an All-Star.

Castro was named to the American League roster on Thursday as an injury replacement for Houston's Jose Altuve.

This is Castro's first All-Star selection, and he's one of 36 players making their debut in the mid-season event.

Castro is the only Twins player to appear in all 93 games this season, and he leads the team in runs, hits, doubles, triples, and runs batted in.

He comes into Friday's game between the Twins and San Franscisco with a .268 batting average, 16 points higher than his career mark.

The only positions Castro have not played this season are catcher and first base.

He's appeared in two games as a pitcher, retiring one batter in an 8-2 loss at Detroit on April 12, and retiring the side on nine pitches in am 11-4 loss at Cleveland.

Earlier, Twins shortstop Carlos Correa was added to the AL roster as a reserve, his third All-Star selection and first since signing with the Twins.

The 94th MLB All-Star Game is Tuesday at Globe Life Field, home of the World Champion Texas Rangers.

The American League leads the National League 47-44-2 in the ASG series that dates back to the first game in 1933.

The NL won last year's game 3-2 in Los Angeles, breaking the AL's nine-game winning streak.
