Kevin Hart’s former friend, Jonathan “JT” Jackson, is suing the comedian for allegedly fabricating evidence in a 2017 extortion case and breaching a subsequent contract. Jackson’s lawsuit, filed in Los Angeles, claims Hart did not fulfill a settlement agreement from July 2021, which required Hart to publicly declare Jackson’s innocence in the sex tape scandal.

According to the agreement, Hart was supposed to say that “the incident” cost him “a very valuable friendship,” that he “lost someone close” to him whom he “loved,” and that Jackson “is not guilty and had nothing to do with it.” Instead, in October 2021, Hart posted on Instagram stating that Jackson had “been found not guilty” because the charges had been dropped but added that the situation had caused a rift in their relationship. Hart expressed his desire to put the incident behind him, saying, “I wanted to move on and get back to life.”

Jackson argues that Hart’s failure to make the agreed-upon statement has damaged his reputation and career, making it difficult for him to obtain acting roles. He claims, “Hart’s failure to uphold the contractual obligations has negatively affected [Jackson’s] professional life and financial security.”

The lawsuit also alleges that Hart fabricated evidence leading to Jackson’s April 2018 arrest, including an email supposedly sent in April 2018 demanding 20 bitcoins to prevent the release of more of the sex tape. Jackson asserts that forensic experts determined the email was “fabricated,” as it was created in May 2019 using Microsoft Word. The sex tape was recorded in Las Vegas in August 2017 when Hart’s wife, Eniko, was pregnant with their first child. Jackson claims that Hart’s actions and failure to clear his name have caused significant damage to his career and reputation. HEAD BACK TO THE RICKEYSMILEYMORNINGSHOW.COM HOMEPAGE
