New Bayern coach Kompany shows up for first activity with the team

New Bayern Munich coach Vincent Kompany showed up on the pitch for his first activity at the club, the Bundesliga champions reported on Friday.

Kompany observed a small group, which included Eric Dier, Raphael Guerreiro and Sasha Boey. He also took the opportunity to have a brief chat with the players.

Aleksandar Pavlović began running again and completed a number of laps under Kompany's watch. He was named in the Germany squad for the Euro 2024, but had to pull out due to tonsilitis.

Bayern officially start their preparations for the new season on Monday with players who didn't see any action with their national teams at Euro 2024.

For Kompany, it's his first job at a top European club. The Belgian was relegated from the Premier League with Burnley last season, but was signed by Bayern after the club had a long search for a coach to replace Thomas Tuchel.
