Clearfield County restaurant to be featured on America’s Best Restaurants

CLEARFIELD, Pa. (WTAJ) — A popular burger spot in Clearfield County is going to be featured on America’s Best Restaurants (ABR) later this month.

Denny’s Beer Barrel Pub is set to be featured by ABR, a national media and marketing company that focuses on bringing attention to local, independently-owned restaurants. Denny’s Beer Barrel Pub is known for its famous burger challenges , stating they have the biggest burger in Pennsylvania.

Denny’s Beer Barrel Pub opened its doors in 1977 and had a menu with prepackaged sandwiches and 50¢ bottle beer in a building that was just 600 square feet. After about a year owner Dennis Liegey and his wife purchased new property and began building the Denny’s location that still stands today. The restaurant is now run by Dennis Liegey III, who has worked in the business for over 25 years.

ABR will highlight Denny’s popular dishes and have an extensive on-camera interview with Dennis Liegey about the restaurant’s special place in the community on July 23. The episode will be aired on social media at an unannounced date.

“We have created a fun place for people to meet and relax and enjoy unique food specials and drinks,” Dennis Liegey notes. “We are most proud of being part of our community and providing good jobs to our employees.”

In addition to ABR, Denny’s has been featured on the Food Network, Travel Channel and in the Guinness Book of World Records all for the “Ye Olde 96er” , the largest hamburger you can order at a restaurant according to Dennis Liegey. It’s six pounds of beef and it comes with a three-hour time limit to eat the whole thing.
